Buatku, Qemu ini sangat berguna sekali untuk mencoba ISO ISO linux yang kita punya. jadi sebelum di burn ke cd, kita bisa coba dulu dengan qemu ini.

selain versi linux, Qemu juga tersedia untuk versi *indows, untuk mendapatkan program ini, silahkan download di (skitar 6MB) sini

untuk menggunakan qemu, caranya :

1. extract dulu qemu -nya karna pada saat kita download, biasanya masih dalam keadaan terkompresi.

2. setelah di extraxt, masuk ke command prompt (*indows), contoh :

cd (lokasi extraxt)

3. kemudian ketikkan perintah :

qemu -L . -cdrom (lokasi ISO linux)

contoh :

qemu -L . -cdrom d:\isolinux\ubuntu7.10.iso lalu enter

dan akan keluar window qemu ;)

Gutsy Release Party (GRP Jember) Ubuntu 7.10 2007

Alhamdulilah, akhirnya acara Gutsy Release Party di Jember berjalan dengan lancar tanpa ada halangan yang berarti ;)

Alhamdulilah juga, antusias dari peserta juga sangat tinggi, banyak sekali pertanyaan2 dari mereka yang berhubungan dengan ubuntu ini.

Acara tadi dmulai jam 09.30 sampe jam 12.00, setelah itu ada acara pembentukan komunitas yang nantinya diharapkan bisa mengembangkan linux khususnya untuk daerah jember tercinta ini ;)

Changing root's password

This trick works well if you have forgotten your superuser password, type linux single at a LILO/Grub prompt. Then passwd once the system has started and you are at a console.

Grub:
If you are using grub go to the relevant line (the one with the kernel and various options) then press 'e' for edit and add "single" on to the end of the lines that boot the kernel. Then hit [Enter] and press 'b' (to boot).

Lilo:
If you are using lilo press escape and type " linux single" and then hit [Enter] to boot.

Security Warning
This is also a basic security hazard if you have others using your computer and security is a concern, you may like to add a password to your LILO or Grub prompt to stop this from being done.
